Jets in tough in Vegas

Slim and none, and slim just left Vegas.

Three members of Winnipeg Jets are waiting for awards at the end of the year in Sin City on Wednesday, and their chances of taking home the equipment are not too big.

In the seven seasons since Jets' return, only two previous nominations have taken place: Andrew Ladd for the Messier award in 2015 and Patrik Laine for the Calder trophy as the best debutant last year.

Here's a look at this year's nominees and why they are against it.

Stunned Jets credit Golden Knights: ‘It was their time’

The magical playoffs of Winnipeg Jets suddenly ended.

The Golden Knights of Vegas won "Jets 2-1" in Game 5 to win the final quarter of the West in four games on Sunday at Bell MTS Place. The Jets lost the last four games of the series.

"We had a great opportunity and this team, it was their time," said Captain Jets Blake Wheeler.

"They made it very hard for us. We had to work for everything that we had, and even when we broke them, we seem to have never been able to get the momentum that we need to get this information on our terms. "

Big Buff has Winnipeg Jets on verge of West final berth

Dustin Byfuglien chased his dance moves for a small celebration of his last big goal, which, perhaps, caught many by surprise.

The 6-foot 5, 260-pound Byfuglien makes a great impression on the NHL playoffs at both ends of the ice, as the planes made their way to one victory at the first wharf of Winnipeg in the Western Conference Finals. Timely goals, strong defense, leadership - all this is part of his game. He dropped his jaws during the second round against the Predators, literally manipulating two players in Nashville, one each in each hand.

His journey back to the post-season was long, but the 33-year-old Byfuglien made Winnipeg his home and is the key reason that the Jets are Canada's last surviving team this season. The last Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup was Montreal in 1993, and the 25-year drought was painful in the hockey house.

Winnipeg's captain Blake Wheeler considers Byfuglien "an excellent equalizer" and unlike others in the NHL.

Winnipeg Jets ready for round 2 matchup with Nashville

The biggest question related to Winnipeg jets engines in the playoffs was the lack of experience and reaction.

This issue will not disappear for the Round 2 series against Nashville, as the Predators have gone all the way to the Stanley Cup finals a year ago.

However, the playoff neophytes of Winnipeg received a round under their belts against Minnesota.

How much did it cost?

"We will transfer this, and we will help them, as far as we can go to Round 2".

One of those young players, rookie Kyle Connor, says the biggest advantage of having veterinarians with a play-off experience comes after losing the game.

For example, after Game 3 against Minnesota, players such as Dustin Bayfullin and Blake Wheeler helped to calm the children.

"All regrouped, took a deep breath, and we had great leaders who brought us back to the right path," Connor said, recalling their message. "This is one game, and it can not identify you. We learned from our mistakes, and this was shown when we came out very strongly in this next game. "

Adam Lowry says that the most important thing he learned in the first round was about emotional fluctuations.
